Blue Star Studio of Wood and Glass
Blue Star Studio of Wood and Glass is the working studio and gallery of local artist, Barb Hogarth. She works in a variety of mediums, including stained, blown, and fused glass, turned and carved wood, and other techniques, as well.

Barb carves Fan birds from a single piece of wood. This old world folk art nearly died out, but Barb is one of several local carvers using, and reviving, the art of fan carving.

She also does stained glass commissions for very special gifts or window locations, and marquetry and photo transfer commissions are also welcomed. Barb periodically takes time out from her studio work to learn new techniques at The Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Indianapolis, or Water Street Glassworks in Benton Harbor, so her repertoire continues to expand.

Barb's studio/gallery opened in Sept. 2003, and is open May-Nov, weekends, and Monday holidays, 11-5, or by appt. It's an easy stop on the Blue Star Hwy, 1/2 mile north of Earl's Farm Market, and 3.5 miles south of M-89. Barb also has her work in Saugatuck, at the Saugatuck Artists Collective on Culver St.
